As the Ocean Survivoar Challenge 2025 gets closer, the training and preparations for getting on the water has commenced. The R10 ocean rowing boat has been in the shipyard over the past few months getting maintenance and repair work done before the handover. At the end of July, I got the go ahead that the boat was ready for collection and have all the paper work complete to allow me to be the official owner of True Blue.
Side note – When you decide to take on a challenge such as rowing across an ocean, you quickly start to understand that every day is about problem solving, investigating, adapting and overcoming. One of my challenges that I had was knowing how I was going to transport my boat around the country, as my little Ford Fiesta doesn’t quite cut the mustard for towing an ocean rowing boat. This was not an easy task that was set, but I knew I needed to make it happen.
A huge thank you to Scott and his incredible team from Eardisley Auto Services for providing the Ocean Survivoar Challenge 2025 with a Jeep, which has changed the ball game for training and logistics. It is so special to have my local garage support me and it was so nice to meet the team!
